Tech Socio Tech: Watch It

not only is holding a wrist to the ear very uncomfortable, it also looks stupid. And taking the watch, strap and all, and holding that your ear? No.

When I was a lad, I went to sea.....no, when I was a lad, watches mostly had springs and movements inside and you wound them up once a week or so. If the watch looked like it was stopped, you held it to your ear for a second to see if it was still ticking.

    How times change...how time(pieces) change...

Chris, that 'Is it broken?' connotation of the gesture is exactly why I think the device should not be designed such that you get to be seen holding it to your ear with strap and all. Who wants to be seen constantly checking whether their expensive tech is broken or not?
